Intimate, Simple, & Beautiful

These are the three words that first come to mind when I think about Lindsey & Tyler's courthouse wedding. Surrounded by their families, they pledged their lives to each in a private ceremony in front of a judge in the courthouse in Virginia, Minnesota. It was an absolute joy to capture their love in such a beautiful, sophisticated setting. I definitely hope to do more courthouse weddings in the future because this was an absolute blast!

The Ceremony

After checking in and doing some final paperwork, Lindsey and Tyler opted to have a short ceremony in one of the courtrooms. The judge was kind enough to let me take photos in his courtroom, but to those considering a courthouse wedding, it is important to know that this is not a guarantee. Of course, most judges are fine with it, and on the off chance that photos of your ceremony aren't allowed, we will still get plenty of photos in the other areas inside and outside of the courthouse.

Inside the Courthouse

After their ceremony, we got a few family photos. Since this ceremony was in the heart of northern Minnesota in the winter, we opted to take them inside the courthouse so the kiddos would've been a bit too chilly. We also got a few photos newlyweds on one of the stunning staircases - I absolutely adore the wood and marble vibe.

Outside the Courthouse

These were my personal favorite photos from the day - I absolutely love all the white details (including the snow). The background worked just perfectly with the red flowers as accents.
