Your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life.

It's finally time to put your Pinterest boards to good use and plan the day of your dreams. It's only natural to want to remember every bit of it, and your photographer (me perhaps??) can help you to do just that! In this blog post, I'm going to walk you through what a timeline might look like with each wedding package that I offer (you can check out my pricing here). Of course, your day likely won't look exactly like one of these, so once you book with me, I always work with you to develop the a custom timeline for your day. About a month before your wedding, I send out a questionnaire for you to fill out and then we'll go from there to develop a timeline.

Intimate elopement? Try 2 hours.

My lowest package for weddings is 2 hours. This package is typically for very small weddings (think immediate family only and no wedding party) and elopements. My own wedding was like this, so these hold a special place in my heart. Typically the timeline is a little more relaxed, but here is what an elopement timeline might look like:

5:00 - detail shots (rings, flowers, ceremony site, etc.)

5:30 - first look

5:45 - ceremony

6:00 - family portaits

6:15 - couples portraits

Just the highlights? Try 4 hours.

This is the smallest package that I'd recommend for full-fledged weddings, even if you don't want a ton of photos, because it gives us a little "wiggle room" in case things don't go according to schedule. It's perfect if you're just looking to get the basics of the wedding captured. Depending on your wedding, there is occasionally time for a few getting ready shots or a little bit of reception coverage too. Here's what a timeline might look like:

3:00 - detail shots (rings, flowers, etc.)

3:45 - first look

4:30 - ceremony

5:00 - family portraits

5:30 - wedding party portraits

6:00 - bride & groom portraits

Want photos getting ready or during the reception? Try 6 hours.

If you are wanting a lot of getting ready photos taken or would like a decent amount of your reception covered (or a little bit of both), this is the package for you. This timeline might vary depending on your priorities, but assuming you'd want a little bit of both, here's what it might look like:

2:00 - detail shots (rings, flowers, dress, etc.)

2:45 - bride getting ready/finishing touches

3:15 - first look

4:00 - ceremony

5:00 - family portraits

5:30 - wedding party portraits

6:00 - bride & groom portraits

6:30 - grand march

6:45 - eat

7:15 - speeches & cake cutting

7:45 - first dance

Want it all? Go for 8 hours.

If you're wanting ample getting ready coverage and reception coverage, I'd recommend 8 hours. Here's what that timeline might look like:

1:00 - detail shots (rings, flowers, dress, etc.)

1:45 - bride getting ready/finishing touches

2:30 - groom/groomsmen getting ready

3:15 - first look

4:00 - ceremony

5:00 - family portraits

5:30 - wedding party portraits

6:00 - bride & groom portraits

6:30 - grand march

6:45 - eat

7:15 - speeches & cake cutting

7:45 - golden hour portraits (depends on time of sunset)

8:15 - dances

9:00 - mock sendoff
